Where is Coron?

Coron is a town in Northern Palawan and the gateway to the most amazing islands you can visit. Everything you see is refreshing with its gradient blue waters, fine white sands, and tall coconut trees. You won't think of work but only life enjoyment when you are here. With beautiful scenery, you can still experience Coron on a budget.

How do I get to Coron from Manila

Fly

Fly to Busuanga Airport (code: USU) via Philippine Airlines/ Cebu Pacific.
From USU airport, take the van going to Coron town proper. Van usually drops you straight to your hotel. The fare starts at Php150; the travel time is 30mins.

Ferry

Book online ticket via 2go. Depart at Manila. Fare starts at Php1800. Check the website for the schedule. You may go directly to Manila port as a chance passenger. Travel time is 11hrs.
Depart at Coron Port, and travel to your hotel via tricycle.

How do I get to Coron from Cebu City

Fly

Mt. Tapyas

Mt. Tapyas is just in Coron town proper. With 200+ steps, you'll see the steel cross at the top and the overview of Coron. No entrance fee in Mt. Tapyas, so you may go anytime to watch sunrise and sunset.

Maquinit Hot Spring

Maquinit Hot Spring in Coron is a relaxing activity after a day tour, but I recommend to visit this place in the morning to enjoy the spring with few tourists. Entrance fee at Maquinit Hot Spring is Php150 and tricycle rent from Coron town starts at Php400, roundtrip. You can arrange for the driver to wait for you.

Twin Lagoon

You can always see the Twin Lagoon on IG posts and this should be part of your tour. You will drop off from this part of the lagoon then pass through a narrow opening where a bigger lagoon is awaiting to astound you.

Banol Beach

Lunch in most tour package is inclusive and Banol Beach is the lunch place for the Kayangan Lake Tour. This is a chill white sand beach with a nice view during lunch. Cheers!

Kayangan Lake View

They say Kayanggan Lake is the Halong Bay of the Philippines. I've been to Halong Bay and without bias, Kayangan Lake is better. The view from this deck has become an icon for Coron. It offers a lot of great sceneries. so believe me when I say, there are more where they came from.

Barracuda Lake

After the Kayangan Lake View, you will walk to Barracuda Lake. Just like the picture, it gets too crowded because of tourists with the same itinerary. Day tour ends at this lake before you head back to the main island.

Banana Island

One of the destinations in the all beach tour of Coron, Banana Island offers the chill and beer vibe. Depending on your tour, you can request to stay longer on this island. You can just lay a beach towel and enjoy the view while getting your Coron tan here.

Bulog Dos

Bulog Dos Island is the most scenic among the three islands of all beach tour. Water is not as "swimmable" as Malcapuya but at any angle, the scenery is IG worthy.

Malcapuya Island

Malcapuya Island is the last destination of all beach tour in Coron. Tour guides will offer you for snorkeling for Php150 each. You can also rent a kayak here or just lay on the sand with music on.

Off the Beaten Track

After reaching the top of Mt. Tapyas, descent through the tracks behind the cross. You will see rolling hills. Don't worry, the track is safe, just follow the track during daylight.

Roaming Around

If you are staying in Coron town, no need to rent a motorbike. Mt. Tapyas is just a walk away and Maquinit Hot Spring can be reached through tricycle. All of the tours are outside the main island so a motorbike is not necessary. If in case you want to explore Busuanga and its hot springs, then better to rent.
