Where is Anda?

Anda is a small town in the eastern part of Bohol. Its beach is comparable to Boracay's. The sand is fine white; the shore is a long stretch; the water is blueish and perfect for a swim. It is an open beach with no bars on the shoreline, making it an ideal place for a chill getaway. If you plan to visit Anda, include Candijay in your itinerary to see their rice terraces and Can-umantad Falls.

How to get to Anda from Tagbilaran City

Van/Bus

From the city, make your way to Dao Terminal near ICM.
Look for a bus/van going to Anda. Van fare is Php180.
Travel time is 2.5hrs
Alight near your hotel or at Anda public market

Back to Tagbilaran City from Anda

Van/Bus

Travel back to Anda public market and wait for the van going to Tagbilaran City. The Van schedule is not fixed, but there is a lesser van from around 9 am onwards.
Travel to Tagbilaran is 2.5hrs, and the fare is Php180.
You will arrive at Dao Terminal.

*You may also ride a tricycle going to Guindulman for Php50 and ride a van or bus there going to Tagbilaran City.

How to get to Anda from Panglao

Van/Bus

From Panglao, ride the bus or jeepney going to Dao Terminal. Bus fare is Php70 and travel time is 30mins.
At Dao Terminal, look for a bus/van going to Anda. Van fare is Php180.
Travel time is 2.5hrs
Alight near your hotel or at Anda public market

Back to Panglao from Anda

Van/Bus

Travel back to Anda public market and wait for the van going to Tagbilaran City. The Van schedule is not fixed, but there is a lesser van from around 9 am onwards.
Travel to Tagbilaran is 2.5hrs, and the fare is Php180.
You will arrive at Dao Terminal.
Catch the bus going to Panglao airport. Travel time is 30mins and fare is Php70

How to get to Anda from Cebu City

Ferry + Van/Bus

Make your way to Pier 1. Book Oceanjet ticket going to Tagbilaran.
The travel time is 2hrs, and the fare is Php800.
You will arrive at Tagbilaran port. Hire a tricycle going to ICM or Dao Terminal

Travel time is 40mins; the fare is Php70.
The last stop is at Dao Terminal. Look for a van/bus going to Anda at the same terminal.

Roaming Around

There are motorbikes for hire in Anda, so make sure to haggle for the price. But you can also hire a tricycle for a day trip to those destinations at a starting price of Php400- including all three pool caves and overlooking. You may also rent a tricycle to visit Cadapdapan Rice Terraces and Can-umantad Falls.

Quinale Beach

Quinale Beach is the most accessible public beach in Anda and is located near the public market. The sand here is comparable to the fine white sands of Boracay. The beach becomes crowded during the weekends and unfortunately, trashes are left along the beach. I hope the local government will strictly implement proper waste disposal and conduct beach clean-up.

Cabagnow Cave

A trip to Anda is not complete without a quick detour to Cabagnow Cave, just a 5-10min drive away from Anda's primary public market. The experience of jumping and swimming in its cave pool is quite exhilarating. It is a thrilling experience you would not want to miss. Seeing others jumping in gives you enough confidence to try it out.

Cabagnow Cave pool has no entrance fee, but a small donation that starts at Php20 is encouraged. During the pandemic, this cave was closed due to property issues; until today, no visitors are allowed to jump into the pool.

Tibao Cave

Around the same area of Cabagnow Cave, you will find Tibao Cave. Follow the trail or ask for direction from your tricycle driver to reach this secluded cave. You may also jump, dive and swim in this cave pool, but the cave has a wider opening and shallower water. While Cabagnow cave is closed, this cave is still open to the public. The entrance fee of Php20 will be collected upon entry.

Combento Cave

This cave is 15min drive away from Cabagnow and Tibao areas. No entrance fee in this public cave. Unlike the two other caves, the Combento cave is a typical cave where you will spelunk a little to reach the cold waters of the cave basin. The swim area is small, but the waters are clear. You can get pretty shots with no tourists, but the place feels eerie, which is cool.

Anda Overlooking

Ask your tricycle driver to include this on your trip. There is no entrance fee here yet but be prepared for almost a hundred steps going to the top. A rewarding view of Anda town will show up, plus Camiguin island over the horizon.

Cadapdapan Rice Terraces

This is not in Anda, but Cadapdapan Rice Terraces is in Candijay, Bohol, just the next town. It is not as grand as Banaue Rice Terraces, but seeing the landscape is like rice terraces in hills. Cute.

The entrance fee for Cadapdapan Rice Terraces is Php50.

Can-umantad Falls

I saw raging waters when I visited the Can-umantad Falls of Candijay. This waterfall is just a few walks away from Cadapdapan Rice Terraces. Getting there requires a tour guide who charges Php100.

Lamanok Island

20 min away from Anda town proper is Lamanok Island. to get there. This island offers a historical experience where you will find coffins, burial clay jars, and caves. I suggest availing of a tour when visiting. You may contact Happytrails for packages.

Off the Beaten Track

After Cabagnow Cave, walk towards Talisay Beach. This is another public beach. If you walk along the shoreline, you can easily reach Anda beach as well.
